Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the BuildingFreedom iOS application and this website. By using the app, you agree to them. If you obtained the app through the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
1. What BuildingFreedom is — and is not
BuildingFreedom is a personal budgeting and financial-education tool. It organizes information you provide or authorize, performs calculations on it, and presents educational insights and options.
The app never initiates, holds, or transfers funds. Any transfer or purchase you make based on information in the app is your own action, taken with your own financial institutions, at your own discretion.
2. Your data and permissions
You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter or import. Apple Wallet data is accessed only with your consent via Apple's FinanceKit and is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Forecasts and "safe to spend" figures are estimates derived from that data and can be wrong — especially if data is incomplete. They are not a guarantee against overdrafts, late fees, or other outcomes.
3. Subscriptions and purchases
- The core app is free. Optional paid tiers ("Plus" and, during the launch window, a one-time "Founders" purchase) unlock additional features.
- Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID, renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or cancelled anytime in your Apple ID subscription settings.
- Prices may change for new subscribers; existing subscribers keep their price for as long as their subscription remains active.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies.
4. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to reverse-engineer the app's paid services, misuse or overload the AI features, resell access, or use the app for unlawful purposes. We may suspend cloud-feature access for abuse (local features and your data are unaffected).
5. Intellectual property
The app, website, name, logo, and content are our property and protected by law. Your data is yours — we claim no ownership of anything you enter, import, or export.
6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The app and website are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for financial losses or decisions made in reliance on information from the app. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date and noted in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
